WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
If you are one of those artists who has tried acrylics and given up in frustration or heard they are devilishly difficult to master and been too terrified to try, then this workshop is for you!
A bit like Marmite, artists seem to either love or hate acrylics but this workshop aims to conquer the fears and problems it often creates and help artists make progress in this versatile medium.
Using simple techniques that get results, Wildlife artist and illustrator, Kim Thompson, will lead you through a series of exercises which will quickly have everyone enjoying using this paint. Kim has worked in acrylics for nearly 40 years so she has a wealth of experience to share on this fun painting day. She is a considerate and encouraging tutor and will bring a relaxed approach to the workshop.
Participants will master the fast drying time of acrylics, working in layers, using different surfaces and practice the techniques Kim uses in her own paintings. We will experiment with brushes, sponges and other mark making and by the end of the session everyone will have a better grasp of this fantastic medium.
Aims of the workshop:
- learn how to paint with acrylics
- overcome problems
- learn tips and techniques to take on into your future paintings.
- leave with the confidence to continue painting in acrylics
Maximum number of participants 16
All materials for this workshop will be provided
Lunch is not provided but can be pre-ordered for £15 on request. Alternatively you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
