Opening with a private view on March 1st, this pop up event is organised by Modesto Exhibitions and features the work of 21 artists local to Southampton. The thought behind the collaboration is to present work that has been produced as we all emerged from the restrictions of the pandemic. There will be an eclectic and interesting mix of styles, subject matter and inspiration on show from paintings to sculpture and performance art. My work will feature the wildlife and wild places that inspire me but with a focus on native species. During the lockdown I developed an even greater sense of the importance of the nature we encounter on our doorsteps and how much we all needed green spaces and wild spaces.
We will be taking over a large space in The Bulb, Frobisher House, Southampton, a re purposed office block featuring a huge and very colourful mural on the exterior which makes it hard to miss. As this is a pop up exhibition it will only be open on the private view evening and March 2nd and 3rd, the Saturday and Sunday.
